چکیده

Traditional user authentication/verification systems mostly rely on knowledge; like password or smart card. But they are not able to meet strict security performance of today’s computer applications. That’s why now biometrics-based authentication systems are good alternate to these traditional authentication methods. Biometric system works on the principle of recognizing individuals on the basis of their physical and behavioral characteristics. As biometric data cannot be lost or forgotten so biometric system is more reliable and userfriendly. However this widespread acceptance of biometrics technology also attracting the attention of attackers. Attackers for cracking biometric system security trying to use the artificial biometric trait, which are made up of silicon, gelatin etc. These synthetic biometric has same characteristics as of original biometric trait. So now biometric system required more secure system which able to differentiate between real and fake biometric. It can be done by liveness detection techniques. In this paper we are discussing some techniques for liveness detection for various biometric systems. Keyword: Liveness detection, fingerprint, iris.

Image Quality Assessment Using Biometric Liviness Detection for Fake Finger Print

A biometric system is a computer based system and is used to identify the person on their behavioural and logical characteristics such as (for example fingerprint, face, iris, keystroke, signature, voice, etc.).A typical biometric system consists of feature extraction and matching patterns. But nowadays biometric systems are attacked by using fake biometric samples. This paper described the fin...

Hybrid Approach for Template Protection in Face Recognition System

Biometrics deals with identifying individuals with the help of their biological (physiological and behavioral) data. The security of biometric systems has however been questioned and previous studies have shown that they can be fooled with artificial artifacts. Also biometric recognition systems face challenges arising from intra-class variations and attacks upon template databases. To tackle s...

An Overview of Face Liveness Detection

Face recognition is a widely used biometric approach. Face recognition technology has developed rapidly in recent years and it is more direct, user friendly and convenient compared to other methods. But face recognition systems are vulnerable to spoof attacks made by non-real faces. It is an easy way to spoof face recognition systems by facial pictures such as portrait photographs. A secure sys...
